Using the railway


There are ICE, IC and RB-connections to the stations Berlin Hauptbahnhof and Berlin Ostbahnhof from all directions.

To get to the main building of the Humboldt-University, departing from station Berlin Hauptbahnhof take the bus TXL, direction Alexanderplatz. Get off at the stop Staatsoper (sixth stop) which is situated directly in front of the main building of Humboldt-Universität.
Departing from Berlin Ostbahnhof, take either city train line S5, S7, S75, or S3 to S+U Alexanderplatz. Then take either bus 100, 200 (both direction Zoologischer Garten) or TXL (direction Flughafen Tegel) and get off at the stop Staatsoper.

Berlin Brandenburg Airport Schönefeld

To get to the main building of the Humboldt-University, departing from Schönefeld, take the train RE7 or RB14, get off at S+U Alexanderplatz. Then take either bus 100, 200 (both direction Zoologischer Garten) or TXL (direction Flughafen Tegel) and get off at the stop Staatsoper.

Approximate travel time from Schönefeld Airport to Staatsoper: 45 minutes


By car

Follow the directions Berlin-Zentrum -> Berlin-Mitte -> Alexanderplatz. There are no parking facilities on the Campus. You may park your car in the parking block in Dorotheenstraße 30 (subject to charges).


By city-train in Berlin

Take city train line S1 from S+U Friedrichstraße direction S Potsdam Hauptbahnhof. Get off at S Unter den Linden (1 stop). From there you can take either bus 100, direction S+U Alexanderplatz, or bus 200 direction Prenzl. Berg/Michelangelostr. Get off at Staatsoper (2 stops).
Alternatively, you can go for an approx. 10 minutes walk from S Unter den Linden or S Friedrichstraße to the main entrance of Humboldt-University at Unter den Linden 6.

How to get to
Paul-Löbe-Haus (PLH)

After the morning sessions, buses will take you from Humboldt-Universitaet to Paul-Loebe-Haus.

The Paul-Loebe-Haus is a 5 minute walk from the main station (Hauptbahnhof). Leave the station through the Southern exit towards Washington Platz, cross Rahel-Hirsch-Street and the Spree via a pedestrian bridge. Afterwards walk through Spreebogenpark. You will see the chancellery on your right and Paul-Loebe-Haus on your left. Enter the house through the visitors' entrance (West entrance, opposite to the Chancellery) at the glass front of the building.


Using the railway


To get to the Paul-Löbe-Haus, departing from station Berlin Hauptbahnhof take the bus M41, direction Sonnenallee/Baumschulenstr.. Get off at the stop Reichstag/Bundestag (third stop). Alternatively you can go for a nice 10 minutes walk along the river Spree to the Paul-Löbe-Haus.

Departing from Berlin Ostbahnhof, take either city train line S5, S7, S75, or S3 to Berlin Hauptbahnhof. Then proceed as described above.


By plane

Berlin Tegel Airport

Take the bus TXL to Berlin Hauptbahnhof, then proceed as above.

Approximate travel time from Tegel Airport to Hauptbahnhof: 20 minutes

Berlin Brandenburg Airport Schönefeld

Take the train RE7 or RB14 to Berlin Hauptbahnhof, then proceed as above.

Approximate travel time from Schönefeld Airport to Hauptbahnhof: 30 minutes


By car

Follow the directions Berlin-Zentrum -> Berlin-Reichstag / Bundestag. You may park your car in one of the parking blocks near the Paul-Löbe-Haus (subject to charges).


By city-train in Berlin

Take city train line S5, S7, S75 or S3 and get off at Berlin Hauptbahnhof. Then proceed as described above.
Alternatively, you can go for an approx. 10 minutes walk from S Unter den Linden or S Friedrichstraße.

Public transport information

Tickets for public transport can be purchased either at the ticket counters of the BVG, on the platforms of city train or underground or in the bus.

Fares
Children under the age of 6 years travel free.

Short-distance ticket (up to 3 stops by underground or city train, up to 6 stops by bus or Tram, AB):   
1.40 €

Single journey ticket (zones AB), valid 2 hours after cancellation.
Cannot be used for return or round journeys:
2.30 €

Day ticket (zones AB) valid until 03.00 a.m. of the next day:   
6.30 €


Berlin and the self-administered cities have defined tariff areas. The Berlin tariff area is subdivided into zones A, B and C.

Zone A: Berlin's inner city up to and including the S-Bahn ring

Zone B: outside the S-Bahn ring up to the city boundary

Zone C: Greater Berlin (area approx. 15 km around Land Berlin), including the City of Potsdam
